W XIX wieku Łódź była potężną przemysłową metropolią, której siła tworzyła włókienniczy rynek Europy. O potędze miasta przypominają niezliczone ślady histori, do których należą ogromne fabryki. Ich potencjał i industralne piękno jest adopotowane na miarę potrzeb współczesnych mieszkańców Łodzi. Jednakże wiele tych pięknych olbrzymów architektoniczych po upadku komunizmu pozostaje nadal w “żałobie po XIX-wiecznym splendorze”, odkrywając swe piękno tylko nielicznym śmiałkom.

In the XIX century Lodz was a huge industrial metropolis, which power was the basis of the european textile market. Many historical places including humongous industrial plants remind us of the power the city had. These plants’ potential and industrial beauty are now being adapted to the needs of current residents of Lodz. However, many of these architectural giants are still in a dilapidated state after the fall of comunism. Only the bravest can still find their beauty.

Im 19. Jahrhundert war Lodz eine prächtige Industriegroßstadt, die den Textilmarkt Europas ausmachte. An die Pracht der Stadt erinnern uns heute noch Geschichtespuren, zu denen bestimmt riesengroße Werke gehören. Deren Potential und industrielle Schönheit wird an die jetzigen Lodzer Bewohner und ihre Bedürfnisse angepasst. Jedoch viele der wunderbaren architektonischen Riesen verbleiben nach der Wende, immer noch “in Trauer der Pracht des 19.Jh.”, und lassen sich nur von wenigen wieder entdecken.
